Julian
Cerecedo
MacFarlane
was born
in Santa
Barbara,
California
in 1981.
Julian
started
playing
drums at
the
tender
age of
three.
He then
started
private
drum
lessons
at age
nine in
Buenos
Aires
with
local
drumming
instructors
Jorge
Buratovic
and
Emanuel
Cauvet
and
continued
for over
ten
years.
In 1999
he
graduated
from
ITMC (Comtemporary
Music
Institute
of
Technology,
Buenos
Aires),
then he
decided
to move
to the
US to
continue
his
training.
In 2005
graduated
from
Musicians
Institute
of
Technology
in
Hollywood
California,
where he
learned
from
some of
the best
drum
teachers
around:
Rob
Carson
(Playing
Techniques),
Gary
Hess
(Reading,
Groove)
Gary
Garbatini
(Rythym
Section
Workshop),
Tim
McIntyre
(Jazz,
drum
styles),
Chris
Berry
(private
lessons),

Julian
has
recorded
and
performed
several
live
shows
with
hard-funk
band
Idiot
Savant
in Santa
Barbara
and Los
Angeles
between
2000 and
2005.
Highlights
include
opening
for
Motörhead,
The
Misfits,
The
Dirty
Knobs,
Graves,
Dashboard
Confessional
and
played
the
Ernie
Ball
stage at
Warped
tour in
2002.
During
2005 and
2008 he
was the
drummer
for the
San
Isidro
Symphonic
Orchestra
in
Buenos
Aires, a
35 piece
symphonic
orchestra,
him
being
the only
drummer
in a
band
formed
by well
known
teachers
and
performers
from
Buenos
Aires;
they
played
Jazz,
Swing,
and
Tango.
He also
has
performed
live at
many of
Buenos
Aires
most
prestigious
venues.
Along
with the
live
venues,
he has
been a
studio
recording
drummer
for TV
commercials
in
Argentina
for EDA
Music
Studios
during
2006/07.
Julian
teaches
the
following
styles:
Rock,
Hard
Rock,
Latin,
Afro-Cuban,
Tango,
Swing,
Big
Band,
Jazz,
Funk,
Punk,
Heavy
Metal,
Speed
Metal,
double
bass
drumming,
extreme
drumming.
Julian
is a
fully
bilingual
teacher
and can
teach in
English
or
Spanish.
